Your work/job makes up a large portion of your life. Whether you work for yourself or have a J.O.B. most people spend 8-10 hours a day dealing with work. Your life can be more stressful from situations at work if you don’t know how to deal with certain stressors. No worries though, you can have a more balanced and less stressed out life if you can manage, balance, avoid, confront or better yet eliminate the stress in the work environment.

Here are a few quick tips to help you:
1)Eliminate the stressor–if it’s a task you hate, delegate it to someone else or share with a co-worker, partner.
2)Avoid the stressor–is there a co-worker that just drives you up a wall? Avoid them as much as possible.
3)Manage the stressor–give yourself a reward after accomplishing a task that is stressful, that way you have something enjoyable to look forward to.
4)Confront the stressor–if a co-worker, supervisor or someone else is making your job more stressful or difficult, confront them and get it worked out, they may not even know what they’re doing or saying is stressing you.
5)Learn how to balance–if you have no other options, then deal with the stress but once you’re away from the work place you’ll need to practice some form of stress relief techniques or hire a stress management coach to help you along the way to a calmer, more balanced, less stressful life (in and out of the work place).
Welcome back!

I posted a short blog about enjoying what you do and today’s post here goes along with it.
Examine these questions and answer honestly:
Do you dread going to work on most days?
Are you treated with respect at work?
You would quit your job if you could afford to?
Your job is preventing you from enjoying life?
Are you paid what you’re worth?
Do you feel good about what you do for a living?
Are you fulfilling your potential?
If two or more of these apply to you, you may want to consider a career or job change.
Like I said here, you should enjoy what you do.
According to the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, job stress is “the harmful emotional and physical responses that occur when the requirements of the job do not match the capabilities, resources or needs of the worker”
Wouldn’t you prefer to be happy and enjoy what you do

Or do you prefer being stressed at work, suffering emotionally as well as possibly physically?

If you’re not qualified to do anything other than what you’re doing, you’ll need to have a plan…get training, education to make that change. If you want to open your own business, you’ll want to make sure you have money saved to get started.
If you like your current job, except some aspects of it you can take steps to control the work related stress. Some stress can be good…acts as a motivator. You don’t want to exceed your stress tolerance level though, so if you feel that happening…consider stress management coaching or a change in jobs.

Often times when people are in a stressful situation trying to earn a living, they seem to ignore the family.

Whatever you do, don’t ignore your family in your pursuit to earn a living.
Spend time with your family and loved ones. Make memories, have positive experiences with themĀ that will create memories they’ll hold and will impact them in a positive way. Family members can be stressed when they see you working constantly and not enjoying time with them.
Do not let your work stress destroy you and/or your loved ones.
